Reduce, Reuse, Recycle…

Reusing cardboard tubes is generally more environmentally friendly than recycling them because it consumes less energy and resources. Reusing perfectly good cardboard tubes means that we don’t have to manufacture new tubes or recycle old ones, which both require energy and resources.

When we reuse cardboard tubes, we reduce the demand for new tubes and the associated environmental impacts of producing them. Additionally, reusing tubes can extend the lifespan of the cardboard and delay its entry into the waste stream, further reducing the environmental impact of disposal and recycling.

In fact, the “reduce, reuse, recycle” hierarchy prioritises reducing and reusing materials over recycling them, as reducing and reusing are typically more effective at reducing the overall environmental impact of consumption. So, whenever possible, it’s always better to reuse cardboard tubes before recycling them.
